fundraising phase II:
yerazad coalition seed fundng
After 3 years of work building, collaborating, and learning, we at Yerazad are ready to grow into a nonprofit!
This Giving Tuesday, we are launching a fundraiser to raise seed funding to help us in this new stage as an organization.
We are finally ready to grow and have the capacity to support our coalition as a nonprofit!
About Our Fundraiser
We are currently in the process of registering as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
50% of this seed funding will contribute to future infrastructure projects like our Greenhouses for Artsakhtsis projects and 50% will help us develop as a nonprofit.
501c3 status will allow us to grow as an organization, streamline our operations, and make it infinitely easier to implement infrastructure projects like our Greenhouses for Artsakhtsis project.
Over the last three years, we have engaged in policy action, environmental justice, and coalition building by:
Hosting 3 days of action
Supporting local policy action for Artsakh + Armenia including passing two resolutions, one with Iranian American Democrats of America and one with the Orange County Board of Supervisors calling for the stop of Genocide in Artsakh
Fundraising $10,000+ and building 2 greenhouses for 5 displaced families from Artsakh
Launching a new Climate Blog to highlight diverse voices about a range of climate change topics centered in the South Caucasus
Partnering with Intersectional Environmentalist to shed light on ethnic cleansing in Artsakh
Hosting 3 workshops and sharing more than 40 infographics
Developing collaborative toolkits and flyers in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples' Day, Artsakh, Tigray, Afghanistan, Palestine, the APPI community, and the Latine/x communty
Participating in Glendale Library Arts & Culture and ReflectSpace Gallery virtual exhibition Sites of Fracture
Building power with diverse non-Armenian organizations and causes
About Our GREENHOUSES
We are so excited to announce that both of our greenhouses have been built!
The total cost of 2 greenhouses came out to 3,789,500 AMD. There is some funding left over that will go directly to the new fundraising goals above.
We are so grateful for all your support over the last year to get our greenhouses up and running!
Additionally, this Sunday, December 8th, we are hosting a volunteer day with Birthright Armenia and Armenian Volunteer Corps to finish setting up our 1 greenhouse in Aruj Village for the 4 families living together in Aruj. Tasks will include planting, weeding, watering, and other garden work.
In the meantime, DONATE ABOVE to support this new phase of Yerazad and scroll below to see the beautiful photos of our 2 completed greenhouses.
